Disturbia Clothing and other goings on!

Ctrl alt Chic proudly stock Disturbia!

Disturbia is a contemporary graphic t-shirt company from North East England, trading since 2003.

In their own words:

"With the simple philosophy 'Disturb the Suburbs', our graphics darkly reevaluate the everyday world. Familiar signs and modern semiotics are warped, deconstructed and reassembled, changing their context to reveal an alternative truth. With an irreverent humour and a punk ethos, our graphics bastardise pop-culture imagery, to reflect our material world. "

In our words:

Disturbia have been disturbing us for awhile now with their tremendous t-shirts, their designs stand out from the rest. Take the t-shirt named 'Idiot' for example, it's a hash on H.P Lovecraft's Cthulu creature as a kid disturbing a suburb!

We stock both male and female Disturbia Clothing which can all be seen on our website:

I had my eye on one of the Disturbia t-shits called 'No Brainer' so I had to get it... Next on my wishlist:

Yip that's Flyboy from the original 'Dawn of the Dead'!
The end is nigh! And to be honest after reading 'The Zombie Survial Guide' and 'World War Z' I can't wait!

In the next couple of months we'll be getting new Disturbia t-shirts so get these while you can!

On the subject of Zombies we've just had a very talented photographer in the shop with his portfolio of zombie pics! In a weeks time we should have prints available to buy online and at the shop. His name is Scott Henderson you can see some of his work here:

Manic Panic Hair Dye

Hey guys,

This is my first post on our new blog, and what better way of starting this thing off with Manic Panic. For those who don't know what i'm talking about follow the link below:

The reason why I chose to write about Manic Panic today is because a couple of days ago I became a hairdresser for the night and dyed my friends hair, it was my first time at dying hair so it was a lot of fun. I learned a few things on the epic adventure:
1. Have some old clothes to hand or as I had to - do it in your boxer shorts. However I do think me and Lee bonded more this way!
2. NEVER smell the Flashlighning Bleach, it hurts your nostrils!
3. Once bleach or dye is on don't sit on new furniture and put your head back!
4. Do not keep opening bottles of wine, alcohol can seriously damage your sense of time! (luckily Lee has short hair and we just reapplied!)

After applying the Flashlightning (40 vol.) and washing it out sometime later, we then applied the dye, Lee wanted to go with the white look so he chose Manic Panic's Amplified Virgin Snow dye, it lasts for quite some time so I've been told and is totally vegan for people who care. Now don't be fooled by appearance of the jar, the contents look like a light purple colour but turns your hair white. It can also be used as a toner before you apply another colour to give it a more striking look.

After the Virgin Snow dye had been washed out it looked great! very bright and mad! Pictures to follow soon.
Manic Panic's Amplified Virgin Snow Dye and lots more colours are available from Ctrl alt Chic if you follow this link and click on Hair Dye or choose 'Manic Panic' from the brand dropdown box you can see all the colours we are selling:

I can't wait to do another one and possibly think of a colour or colours to go into my hair!
Bye for now!
